August Bank Holiday 2011
Well, having geared up for a busy bank holiday weekend, we arrived on Saturday morning to find we had no electricity! A transformer felled by overnight storms left us and other local properties with a very weak and intermittent power supply.
Once the generator had kicked in we were able to keep fridges and freezers down to temperature but we couldn’t run the coffee machine or ovens. So, sorry to those of you who came along hoping for morning coffee or a leisurely Saturday lunch! Also, a big thank you to those customers who queued so patiently whilst we grappled with calculators instead of our all-singing and dancing tills!

St Luke’s Hospice car visits Cheerbrook
The St. Luke’s hospice ‘win a car for £1’ visited us on Friday. Volunteers Ed & Sue were delighted that we found them a spot inside out of the rain, and we were able to keep them topped up with tea & toast!
